That One Mustard Obsessed Person.

Normally people are known for their small obsessions, for instance an obsession with cucumbers, butter, salt, or any other food. Then there are those people with large obsessions of food, where they eat it almost every day or with everything for example; Mustard. Mustard is a yellow substance that brings on a tangy flavor that comes from the lemon juice and possibly the other ingredient. Its best known for its use in sandwiches, salads and the occasional marinades. But in this short story mustard is used on a daily basis by a certain gentlemen that works at a certain restaurant called La Mustard, where everything is used with mustard, every dish has a signature mustard garnish. I know what you're thinking, who would go to a place that uses mustard so much?! That is a simple question with a simple answer, Mustard addicts of course! This gentleman works as the sous chef also known as the under-chef. He works with a certain jar of mustard or also known as The Jar. This jar has been in that very kitchen since the building was opened; now this mustard was homemade by the very first chef that worked in La Mustard.

This mustard jar was not old actually only around 15 years and 7 sous chefs. This mustard was just dying to be used after being kept in a jar for so long! Its dreams were about to come true because one day that very restaurant ran out of mustard and would not get any until 2 PM but the restaurant could not close its door on the obsessed mustard users! So the sous chef declared that they would use that large jar of mustard to satisfy their beloved customers! So finally after sitting on shelf for 15 years waiting to be used by any of the 7 sous chef the jar was finally used for their dishes! The jar was split into 7 different glass bowls one mixed with honey another mixed with pepper.

End of Street Lawyer

Housing First is similar to 14th Street Legal Clinic because they are helping the homeless by opening around ten 4-story complexes which holds about 1,271 chronicle homeless individuals. Housing First is a nonprofit organization, because of them there is a 73% reduction of chronicle homelessness. Unfortunately chronically homeless only make up 20% of the homeless population all together. Like the 14th Street Legal Clinic, or rather like Mike, they are tied with many public good services that help the homeless adjust to the life they are in. At the same time they are very different because they are not dealing with legal matters, they are dealing with housing for the majority of  homeless that have only been on the street for a year or so while the Mike and the other lawyers of the 14th Street Legal Clinic deal with people that have been on the street for most of their lives like the Burton Family who have lived and died on the street.

Cleveland Street Chronicles have changed a few lives of the homeless like the 14th Street Clinic. They were inspired by a man and a small group of homeless people that were trying to make money on the street without begging for it. Due to this paper more people have become aware of the homelessness issue. People became aware of Mr. Michael R. White, the mayor of , was trying to do. Mr. White ordered the police force to ticket those homeless, that were trying to earn money without begging, $50 for not having a city peddler's licence. Luckily the ACLU or American Civil Liberties Union filed a suit in favor the the homeless Their reasoning was: it went against their First Amendment right, but it was all in vain; due to the U.S. District Judge agreed with the city in the matter. As for the 14th Street Legal Clinic they dealt with a lot of people with these issues of trying to earn money without begging and also begging for money for whatever needs they have.

Both of these organizations are similar to each other in helping the homeless earn their rights as citizens like the Street Legal Clinic. Together they have changed many peoples lives that once lived on the street or still do. They both have their own funding and they both saved people for going under anymore than they already have.  But the problem with both of these is they both have not dealt with the legal matters like eviction of their workers or people that live in their housing nor have they ever dealt with people having their children taken from them and trying to get them back. But like the Street Legal Clinic they have changed and possibly saved peoples lives, they have helped those people a whole lot more than most people would by building them housings or giving them jobs so they can have some sort of income and are able to save to get their own place in the world.

The Street Lawyer Part III

Mister and Mike are alike because they both want justice for the people they do not exactly have the options of luxury like their own place to sleep at night or the money to stay somewhere. Mister was looking for justice for the people in the shack housing in the warehouse. Mike is looking for justice for poor people in general and he also dealt with how they were being treated as "squatters". Mister was trying to understand why people were treating the homeless like they were being treated.

Hector was moved to a different part of the law firm, Drake and Sweedneys, into Chicago because he knew way too much about what was in the River Oaks TAG file. He knew what the missing memo was about because he was the one to write it, but unfortunately for the firm, Hector had a copy of the memo because he knew Chance was going to take it out of the file so that the case would win if it was ever to come up. Now that Palma works in Chicago. I figure he is being paid more to keep his mouth shut that would be why he has not gone against Drake and Sweedney's law firm in anyway other than giving Mike the last missing memo of the file.

Mike is doing well in the law firm he is in now. Instead of him working nonstop, like he was in Drake and Sweedneys, he is more relaxed and does not seem to have the urge to go to work like he did working at the other firm. Mike is still working hard but he is not working the long hours he was, he can leave whenever he wants without having to clock out or inform anyone where he is going, it is his own business.

The Street Lawyer Part II

Mike and Clair lost because they have finally come to the agreement that they were going to get a divorcee and end their ties together all together. She already talked to her lawyer about it and already had the papers made up,  they even discussed the splitting of property and finances, which he got about 20-30% of everything while Clair is getting 70-80%, which is also very unfair for him because he was the one that was working the most and earning those funds for him and Clair, only for her to get the majority of it because her lawyer thinks its right. They did not really fight but they did have their arguments and discussions, he never hit her nor did she hit him. He might be cracking but for her to take the majority of the money, that should of been split equally in half, is completely selfish and makes her seem conceded and self centered for her to do. That is why they have lost because she is selfish enough to not try to fix the crack in the wall of her marriage with Mike instead she tears down the wall completely only to dent the new wall she'll put up at some point, and the only possible way for her to fix the marriage was to talk to him and try to see him or go out with him every possible spare minute she had, but instead of trying she and Mike shut themselves out form each other.

Hector Palma helps Mike but informing him that the firm suspects it was him that took the files without permission and illegally. He also tells Mike to get rid of the paper or return them without anyone knowing so Hector himself would not get into trouble for giving out those keys to Mike in the first place. I do not believe Mike is having a mid-life crisis. I think he is more interested in helping people more directly than how he was before by breaking up trusts.

The Street Lawyer Part I

Mike did not believe DeVon  Hardy would kill them because all he was doing was threatening them and when he let out shots he would aim above their heads and during the time they were all held up DeVon did not talk all he did was sit there in silence. When Mike asked DeVon he would tell them anything, he did not ask for anything the only thing he really asked for was dinner and even then he did not harm any of the lawyers that were in the room, the only “harm” was rope burn from the rope around their wrist.

Clair and Mike do not have the best relationship, they do not really talk all they do pretty much share a bed every night. Their marriage is rocky because of that lack of conversation and because of their lack of conversation they do not really get along, they do not go on trips with each other or have time for each other. I do not think that, due to the fact that they no longer talk, Mike is contemplating to quit his job at the firm. I think it is because he sees that after what happened in the firm with Mister he can no longer "live" for his work and only his work. He is more into trying to spend time with his wife, Clair, and help out with the homeless people shelter.

Mike sees it fit because if it was a school or a theater then innocent people might have been hurt or worse. Instead of children or anyone else being held at gun point it was 8 lawyer that were held at gun point. To have men that could handle more of the pressure of a gun being pointed to their head while children or teenagers would be freaking out or instigating the shooter or there would be a panic and chaos.

Edgar Allen Poe

In most of Edgar Allen Poe's short stories there seems to always be a sense of creepiness, eeriness, and a slight taste of what is going to happen next also known as suspense. In most of his stories there seems to always be some beautiful woman dying or on her death bed, for instance, "The Fall of The House of Usher" where the beautiful Lady Madeline seems to have died but then later comes back to life with a need to kill her brother whom she was "married" to. Now as poetic as that may seem to be I would like for you to think about this for a second back then it was normal for royalties to marry within the family so their blood line was not "tampered" or "tainted" with other commoners blood, if this was so normal then why does she wish to kill her beloved brother as if she were a knight and he a dragon? Well if we really think about it most of the symbols for royalty was either a dragon or a unicorn of some sort, sometimes there were both unicorn and a dragon with the look of being ready to fight it out.
Now imagine "Tell-Tale Heart" where the creepiness comes into play. A man with a dead beady eye, which the narrator believed wanted to kill him, was staying in his home with him but the narrator sees him as a threat. So while the old man sleeps he goes and checks in on him throughout several nights and on the last night, the seventh night, the old man wakes form his sleep and then and only then does the narrator strikes and kills the man.  That is not all later on the police shows up and questions him about the scream that the old man let out before he departed from the world.

The majority of Poe’s stories have death and or destruction in them which thrills his audience to the point of which they want more but by the time people truly started to recognize his work he was well into madness and was truly done with writing his stories.

My Metamorphosis

Ideally when you wake up you don't normally see yourself in the mirror until you go into the bathroom to start your day. Now if you are a teenage girl, which you may or may not be, and have a mirror in her room, not only because it is a hassle to do your hair in the bathroom while your four brothers are trying to go into the bathroom to start off their day but because it is essential to have a mirror in the room so you can get ready without a hiccup or a bump in the road. Having that mirror is what started it all being able to see what she became. Her name is not really relevant in this short three hundred word paragraph but we will call her Cait. Now Cait woke up starting her day with a giant headache and feeling awfully dizzy and not because of last nights events that ended with a bang but because something changed about her, unfortunately she will not now about this change until she meets with her boyfriend who we will call Vincent.

Cait and Vincent have been dating for seven months and nineteen days. They could be what you call "in love". Well back to the topic. Cait woke up with a headache and she was dizzy as she got out of bed she realized that there was something off about today but she brushed it off as getting up later than normal. But as she was getting ready she noticed something different about her she clothes that normally fit her rather well where slightly baggie and bunchy. Her hair that was once a nice wavy mocha brown was now a chocolate milk color and straight as a needle and looked so dead. As she finished getting dressed she looked in her body length mirror and saw what has become of her. At first she she just stared at herself then she screamed. What she became was so different compared to what she once was it horrified her, her body was so thin and skeleton like and her hair looked so dead. She looked like the walking dead. When Vinny saw her he screamed like a little girl and ran away.
